I try to set my on site scanning schedule well in advance. So please keep that in mind if you're having an auction and need the results for your catalog. I try an accommodate every breeder and will work to your schedule, so please plan ahead and allow me a few weeks notice.

Know your scanning window. Animals must be scanned in a prescribed age set by the U.G.C. Double check your animals and your breed to make sure they fall within the limit before hand. For an all breeds age chart, go

Animals will be weighed here at the ranch so don't worry about weighing ahead of time. If you need hip heights or scrotals, those can be done as well while the cattle are in the chute.

Barn sheets are required and must accompany the cattle.

You should expect to be here no longer than an hour. All equipment will be set up and ready to go when you get arrive.

Our road is fully paved but does have one sharp corner and a few hills so please drive with care. We have a 30 ft. livestock trailer and don't have any problems pulling a load of cattle up into the Ranch. But if you have a smaller underpowered truck and your trying to pull a full load, you might have problems. If you are unsure about your situation and pulling up cattle, please shoot me an email.

On Site Scanning Information
The Setter Ranch has one of a very few Central Test Sites for ultrasounding cattle. Located outside of Sacramento California, the facility was built for producers that have a limited amount of cattle to scan. Breeders that need 1-8 head scanned can bring their cattle here for a very cost effective way to get their cattle ultrasounded. Even if you only have one head, you can get it scanned. I will come to your ranch to ultrasound your cattle there. Just know you have another option by coming to Jackson! The choice is yours! If you have more cattle to scan than 8 head and need information on setting up a ranch call visit, go
